IN-HOME PIANO LESSONS

  • Music should be accessible to everyone. I can say with full confidence that students of ALL abilities are welcome. Neurotypical? No problem. Adult? It’s never too late to start. Neurodiverse? I don’t just “try my best” with students with special needs or disabilities, I am equipped, trained, and thrilled to work with them.

MY TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

  • JOY IS PRIORITY

Learning music should be fun! Students are more engaged and motivated when they are enjoying themselves and playing music that they like. When we focus on the joy of making music, students won’t even realize that they are developing motor skills, learning patterns, and becoming musicians.

  • PRESUME COMPETENCE

Every student is unique with their own way of learning. I don’t focus on deficits and drill endlessly to “overcome” them. I seek out strengths and teach to those. I don’t shy away from stims or “different” ways of moving and communicating, I embrace and accommodate them. I talk to students in age appropriate language and expect them to succeed.

  • STUDENT CENTERED

My approach focuses on the student’s strengths and interests to guide our way. Your kid loves Tik Tok music? Youtube tutorials? Pop songs? Let’s do it. I realize that the student’s unique interests are the gateway into the world of music and keeps them motivated to practice and improve.

IN-HOME LESSONS.

I provide lessons in the comfort of your home, where students can feel at ease in an environment they are used to and where mobility is not an issue. Lessons are offered once a week in 30 minute, 45 minute, or 60 minute increments. You can choose either a flat monthly rate for students who plan to attend class reguarly or pay per lesson for busy students or anyone who prefers to take it one lesson at a time.

Each student must have either an acoustic piano or an 88-key digital piano, set up in a quiet space away from distractions.

Book a trial lesson.

Please send me a message through the form to set up a trial lesson. After I learn more about your student, I can recommend which lesson length would work best. Things like age, experience, and attention span all play a factor. If it feels like a good fit after our trial lesson, we can discuss continuing with weekly lessons.
